The Wright Group offers a Home Checkup service designed to help prevent and identify damage before it becomes a major problem. We help you identify potential causes of damage BEFORE they become expensive repairs. Our SmartShield Home Check Plans include annual check-ups to maintain the safety, beauty and functionality of your home. For one low monthly fee, you get peace of mind knowing your biggest investment is in good shape.
Over the years we have done many remodeling projects that were forced on the homeowner as a result of damage. Water damage, fire damage, termite damage, etc cause thousands of dollars of damage in a home. It’s a nightmare that no one wants to experience, but it is more common than anyone realizes.
Here’s the problem: it’s difficult for a homeowner to identify problems early. After all, how often do you go in your crawlspace or attic or on your roof? Many homeowners are very handy, but even the most fastidious homeowner can’t always identify damage in the early stages.
At just $24.95 / month, this service can save you thousands in repair expenses.
The Wright Group is here to help! With our SmartShield Home Check, one of our construction professionals will inspect your home from top to bottom every year. We’ll check the most common causes of damage and look for warning signs to help you identify problems early – before they become a disaster for your home.
We’re not a handyman service, so our people have zero incentive to “find” problems. If we do identify needed repairs, we can refer you to our network of reputable, licensed professionals to take care of the issues. These are the same professionals who work on our large remodeling and custom home projects, and we know that they do a good job at a reasonable price.

Your card will be charged for the first month immediately, and it will be charged each month automatically after that until you cancel. You will be directed to our scheduling site to schedule your first home checkup.
It depends on the level of Plan you choose, but for the Silver plan with a home checkup it typically takes around 1-2 hours. Gold and Platinum plans take a little longer, because there are additional services that we perform while we’re there.
There is a comprehensive list here. We will go on the roof, in the attic, in the crawlspace (if applicable), and in every room of the home. We test plumbing and electrical fixtures and look for evidence of water damage that may be hidden under floors or inside walls. When we finish we provide you with a comprehensive report, including pictures, that gives you detailed information about each area we inspect.
No! Our service does not include servicing your HVAC unit, and although we will let you know if we see termite activity, your annual termite inspection needs to be done by your pest control company. We should not replace those services, but rather we enhance them. We are looking for things they are not, so we could identify issues in areas they are not checking.
We will notify you immediately and provide you with as much information as we are able to obtain. Some areas are not visible, so we will do the best we can to identify the extent of the problem and what needs to be done to repair it. If you need help finding a qualified professional to do the work, we can refer you to one of our trusted partners to quote the repairs. There is no obligation to use us or our partners to do any repairs. We offer that as a convenience for our Plan Members.
We come once a year for the comprehensive home checkup. Our office will contact you to schedule it for a day and time that is convenient for you.
